Imagine drafting the hook for your next video, and immediately being able to throw it over to a group of scriptwriting nerds who help you improve it.
Maybe you're not sure whether your payoffs are compelling enough, or if your packaging fits the tone of your script.
Well... we've spent two years cultivating a space where you can simply ask.
Writing YouTube scripts used to be lonely, stressful and filled with guesswork. The YouTube Writer's Room brings together YouTubers from many niches to share feedback, swap ideas, and make progress faster.
I reply to every single post - plus I'm constantly amazed by the feedback other students provide.
It's like having a small team to help you make better decisions on every script, so you don't grind to an overthink-y standstill.
Let's build our YouTube channels faster, together.
We've helped 200k+ subscriber channels get their next 1/10, and total newbies launch their first ever videos. See what 150+ students past and present have to say about the The YouTube Writer's Room.
No more guesswork. No more overthinking.
Learn to publish more consistently by getting direct feedback from the experts.
Share an upcoming hook, a rough video structure, or even a full script - and we'll find your blind spots. We know better than anyone how scary it feels to share work-in-progress. But that's why most YouTubers get stuck. We're here to make each others' scripts better, faster.

Ask me anything about scriptwriting, or simply sit back and enjoy the conversation as we tackle each others' YouTube problems one by one. Common discussion topics include: specific scripting problems, topic ideation, and broader channel strategy.
It's easy to procrastinate when you have no deadline. But these 2 hour co-writing sessions provide a little extra accountability to ensure we're writing new scripts continuously. We come together, share what we're planning to work on... and write!

Stop guessing why viewers are clicking off. Every month, the most active members get their retention graphs personally reviewed by me. We pinpoint why your viewers lost interest - and tell you how to fix it for the next video.
Need a deeper look? Book a "Hotseat" with me, where we can spend a full hour discussing and dissecting your work in greater detail. The twist? The whole community is invited - meaning you get the benefit of cross-niche advice you wouldn't hear in your own echo-chamber.

When I started writing YouTube scripts professionally, every new script felt like 90% guesswork.
I knew I could write well, but I had no idea how to write for YouTube. There were no systems, no frameworks, and no one to ask for help.
And over the next 4 years, I learned something surprising - it was not just a beginner problem.
I've since consulted with 10m subscriber channels, helped 600k channels create their fastest-growing video, and worked with YouTubers on their very first scripts. At every level, scriptwriting is a blind spot.
The YouTube Writer's Room exists to fix that. It's a place to share your scripts-in-progress and get fast feedback from a world-leading expert, and a community of peers who understand the power of a well-written YouTube script.
It began as a simple add-on to my scriptwriting course, but has grown into a thriving community of YouTubers in 40+ niches, with channels ranging between 0-600,000+ subscribers.
It's the community I wish I'd had four years ago.
We don’t just give you a network; we give you the operating system.
Get instant access to the exact frameworks, AI tools, and dashboards I've used to generate 60m+ views for clients and students.

Not every YouTuber is a good fit. See if this is the right decision for you...
We don't optimize for headcount.
In fact, we periodically close the doors to new students to ensure we can serve our existing ones to a high standard.

Yes! I am active Monday to Friday and aim to reply to all posts within 24 hours. I do not simply push you to use my AI tools as a replacement for me. I want to understand you and your channel, so I'm active every week day.
No. While I used to offer a 6 month option, I believe that a longer commitment increases the likelihood of seeing results - especially with scriptwriting, which can take longer to experiment with than other aspects of YouTube (titles, thumbnails, etc).
Yes, but with caveats.
I will reply to absolutely everything, which includes feedback requests on full scripts. However, I will not be able to give as detailed feedback across an entire script (detailed script reviews can take 2+ hours), and you'll find other students are less likely to provide feedback on full scripts as well.
With that said, the best way to use the community is to ask for specific feedback on particular areas of a script. Hook feedback is the most common request. You might also ask for feedback on a specific section of a script. Some students will ask for feedback on overall script structure.
There are many ways to approach this, but generally it's best to identify where your script would really benefit from focused attention by the community.
Not specifically, but some of our advice applies. We have seen some students get excellent results when applying long-form frameworks to their Shorts, but the focus of this community is on long-form.
It depends! In the past we've invited both the on-camera talent plus their scriptwriter to join under one membership. This works because they are both focused on the same scripts at the same time. However, depending on which combination of teammates you'd like to join, I might require you to buy multiple memberships. Email me at george@georgeblackman.com to enquire.
Office Hours are effectively a Q&A with me. Show up with or without a question about a script-in-progress, a new video idea, or anything YouTube related. I'll drive the conversation, but other students will contribute their feedback as well.
Group Scriptwriting is a quiet co-working session. We show up on Zoom, set a goal, and write for two hours (with a small break in the middle). If you have time, you can stick around for five minutes after the call to discuss your progress.
Yes, 99.9% of the time. There has been one occasion in the last 12 months where we have run out of time to answer a student's question on a live call.
You can expect somewhere between 4-8 students to join per call, and we take questions up-front to ensure I know roughly how long to allocate to each student. This allows us to give the floor to everybody.
We have two core calls per week: Office Hours, and Group Scriptwriting.
Three weeks out of four, the calls are U.S.-aligned:
Office Hours: 5pm GMT / 9am PST, usually on Mondays. (1hr)
Group Scriptwriting: 4pm GMT / 8am PST, usually on Thursdays (2hr)
One week out of four, the calls are Asia-aligned:
Office Hours: 9am GMT / 5pm HKT, usually on Wednesdays. (1hr)
Group Scriptwriting: 10am GMT / 6pm HKT, usually on Wednesdays (2hr)
Europe + UK students are served well by all call times.
If joining live calls is a big factor in your decision to join, please review the above carefully.
No. The only major holiday I take off is Christmas, but in that time I will be absent for 2 weeks. I am also likely to take a total of 2 addtional weeks off during the year. I believe this is important to avoid burnout and to ensure I am capable of providing high quality feedback year-round.
That being said, you will always have warning when I am going to be absent, other community members will continue to provide feedback in the meantime, and when I return I will always check in with all posts to see if you'd still like my feedback.

Hey! 👋 I'm George :)
I went from working in a call centre in 2021 to writing scripts for Ali Abdaal, who at the time had 3m subscribers.
From over 100+ candidates, I got one of four writer positions.
The videos I wrote averaged over 1m views each.
I went on to write for YouTubers like Mike Shake and Ed Lawrence, and I've since collaborated with industry heavyweights like Colin and Samir. I’ve worked with real estate agents, laser eye surgeons and even child prodigy violinists to kickstart/optimise how they write their videos.
I’ve been featured in Business Insider and interviewed on Creator Science. I spent months studying dozens of retention graphs across 50+ niches and shared all my findings for free.
